Primus’ new EtaPower MultiFuel backpacking stove delivers exceptional power and energy-efficient design
With faster boiling times, less fuel consumption, and a lower total weight, the EtaPower MultiFuel is Primus’ most environmentally friendly stove yet
Merging two outdoor innovations, the Primus EtaPower MultiFuel (MF) backpacking stove blends one of the most fuel-efficient stove designs in the world with the convenience of omnivorous multi-fuel technology.
“Easier to boil water because of its remarkable power, and easier to carry because you need less fuel, the EtaPower MF is a great backpacking stove for the high-performance backcountry traveler as well as the weekend overnighter,” said John Smithbaker, president of North American Gear and exclusive distributor of Primus stoves.
Able to burn any available fuel – pressurized LP gas, white gas, diesel, kerosene, or aviation fuel – the new stove is based on Primus’ proprietary Eta burner design, using a perfectly positioned preheating coil to vaporize fuel before combustion as well as a highly efficient heat exchanger attached to the bottom of EtaPower pots to focus the flame exactly where you need it.
The EtaPower’s heat exchanger is so effective that more than 80% of the heat created during combustion is utilized, in contrast to the average rate of 40% with other stoves. The stove’s preheating coil allows LP gas canisters to be turned upside down, thereby accessing the remaining liquid fuel wasted by so many other stoves.

The hyper-efficient EtaPower stove burns so cleanly and directly that boil times are more than twice as fast as compared to average stoves. The EtaPower’s heat exchanger works so efficiently that very little heat escapes, and it’s commonly known that the sides of the cook pot remain cool enough to touch even as it’s contents begin to boil.
Paired together, the remarkable efficiency of the EtaPower fueling and heating systems allow for less fuel to be carried on trips – driving home the efficiency of a system that requires less weight to achieve the same campsite goals.
The EtaPower MultiFuel stove is equipped with a piezoelectric ignition eliminating the need for matches and lighters.
A burner stand, 360º windscreen, specially made 0.35 liter fuel bottle, 2.1 liter EtaPower pot with heat exchanger and a variety of gas jets to maximize the efficiency of various fuels are all included with the stove. Additional accessories include fry pan, handle, and bag that doubles as pot insulation. (MSRP: $190)
